The pace was perfect for a family, lots of stops for views and photos, and the guide even suggested a great gelato place afterward. Our kids are usually not big fans of walking tours, but they stayed engaged the whole time. Highly recommend if you're visiting Matera with children.
We booked this tour while travelling through southern Italy with our three kids (ages 5, 9 and 13), and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Matera is an incredible place but it can be a bit overwhelming to explore on your own, especially with younger children, so having a guide who knew how to make the stories fun really made the difference.
