This private day trip from Rome to Montepulciano and Pienza leads you through the breathtaking landscapes of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rolling hills, historic towns, and exceptional food and wine traditions. Travel in comfort with pick-up and drop-off included from your hotel in Rome.
Your first stop is Montepulciano, a charming hill town famous for its Renaissance architecture and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Here, you may choose between an optional guided walking tour of the historic center or free time to explore independently, followed by a visit to a local wine cellar for a wine and food tasting.
Continue through the scenic Val d’Orcia to Pienza, the ideal Renaissance town designed by Pope Pius II. Also in Pienza, a guided visit is optional, allowing you to either enjoy insightful commentary from your guide or stroll at your own pace, sampling the town’s famous Pecorino cheese and admiring panoramic views.
The itinerary is flexible and customizable, with time for lunch and personal exploration. An optional kid-friendly version is available, making this Tuscan experience suitable for families traveling with children.
