TOWER OF LONDON FOR KIDS TOUR

Child-friendly tour with special guide

Tour Description

Explore the Tower of London in a Private tour led by a Blue Badge and kid-friendly guide

One of the most recognizable attractions in the UK capital is the Tower of London, and moreover it is one of the most popular places to visit for young people. The Tower of London stands in all its stateliness on the banks of the River Thames in central London, and was first built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century as a royal palace and residence. The Tower of London was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988 for its significance in relation to history, culture, and architecture, and is one of the oldest buildings in London.

Our 3-hour private tour is fully customized to meet the needs of families with children and to make sure that all the participants will have both an educational and entertaining experience. You will be led by a kid-friendly Blue Badge Guide who will meet you just outside the Tower of London, and from there you will start your exploration of this 900-year-old castle and fortress, which is notable for housing the crown jewels and for holding many famous and infamous prisoners.

With your skip-the-line tickets your will access the Tower of London through a fast track entrance, so you won't have to worry about standing around and wasting valuable time in a long boring queue.

With the use of visual aids and themed games during the tour, your guide will entertain the kids and capture their attention by narrating fascinating stories and legends about the Tower of London. This will enable them to learn history in a way that they are more likely to remember.

You will see all the most important places in the fortress, such as the White Tower, which is the castle's strongest point in a military sense; the Medieval Tower, which was formerly the residential area of the Tower; the Royal Mint; Tower Green and the Royal Menagerie, where sculptures and installations of wild and exotic animals commemorate the former inhabitants of the Tower.

One of the highlights of the tour is the wonderful collection of the Crown Jewels, comprising the finest treasures of the British Monarchy, such as an 800-year-old Coronation Spoon, as well as St Edward's Crown and the Imperial State Crown. Your guide will tell you all about the profound religious and cultural importance of the pieces stored in this breathtaking collection.

During the tour you will also meet the guards of the Tower of London, the Yeomen Warders, also known as the “Beefeaters”. In principle, they are responsible for looking after any prisoners at the Tower and safeguarding the British crown jewels.

Our Tower of London tour for kids and families is scheduled every morning, and since it is a very popular tour we strongly suggest you make your reservation well in advance.
