Explore the artisric and culinary treasures of the center of Rome
What better way to enjoy Rome – sightseeing and food tasting in one! On this 3-hour food tour you can do just that, tasting your way around Rome’s delicious street food whilst taking in the impressive sights of historic Rome. As you meander around Rome you will sample zucchini flowers, supplì, pastries, pizza and much more.
The tour begins in the bustling Campo de' Fiori, one of Rome’s famous market squares, where you meet with your guide and also some of the food vendors at their market stalls. Sample some cheese, cured meat, wine and seasonal fruit among other local delicacies. Next we head for the Jewish Ghetto and the Theater of Pompey to see Rome’s synagogue as well as the remains of several ancient Roman buildings.
We will ensure you have the opportunity to taste some of Rome’s best pizza as well as the local supplì – a traditional street food made by frying a ball rice that has tomatoes and mozzarella at its center. Delicious!!
The tour continues to Torre di Largo Argentina, made famous by the fact that Julius Caesar was assassinated here. We visit a nearby family-run Gelateria, hear from the shop’s owner how it is made and also of course get to eat some of the best ice-cream in Rome.
