We invite you to take a memorable journey through the cobblestone streets of Naples, with historic churches, palaces, fountains, and squares to discover the true spirit of this colorful and vibrant town.

Led by a professional local guide you will be immersed in the authentic atmosphere of the Southern Italian city strolling through the bustling neighborhoods and narrow lanes lined with beautiful historic buildings, artisan shops, street food stands, and raucous cafés. During this tour you will visit he most popular sites of Naples as well as its hidden corners to discover its unique charm and magnificent architecture. Your private guide will teach you about Neapolitan traditions, art and history with lots of facts and little known curiosities that only locals know about.

Your tour will start from the main square and one of the symbols of Naples, Piazza del Plebiscito. Surrounded by the imposing buildings, such as the Royal Palace and the 19th-century Basilica of St. Francis of Paola, its a popular venue among locals and tourist. Our guide will provide you with historical background about the square and the monuments that dominate it.

After a short walk you will reach another famous attraction of the city, Galleria Umberto I. You will stop here to enjoy its beautiful light-filled arcade topped with a glass dome and steel roof.

Next, you will take a guided stroll through the trendiest street of the city, Via Toledo. Lined with boutiques, chain stores and high-quality restaurants it also houses some remarkable landmarks of the city, including Piazza Dante, Piazza Trieste and Trento, Palazzo Cirella and many more.

Your tour will continue with another important street of Naples, Spaccanapoli. Translated literally, it means "Naples splitter" and it represents an imaginary line that divides the historic center in two parts. Our guide will take you to the highlights of the area and explain its historic and artistic importance. Here you will feel the authentic spirit of the city and see the must-see sites such as the Church of Gesù, the San Lorenzo Maggiore Basilica, the 14th century Santa Chiara Monastery and Museo Cappella Sansevero with the breathtaking marble sculpture of Veiled Christ.

You will then explore the oldest part of the city that dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman periods, when the city bore the name “Neapolis”. Today, via dei Tribunali is a lively bustling area filled with shops, markets and authentic restaurants. This street is also known for its Gothic architecture with a plenty of historic monuments. Here you will discover some interesting attractions, including Duomo, the main Cathedral of Naples. Famous particularly for its chapel decorated with frescoes by Domenichino and Giovanni, this 14th century church is a home for significant treasures and relics of great artistic and historic importance.

After that, your guide will take you to the Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino. This impressive medieval castle can be considered another symbol of the city and it is a home to the Naples’ Municipal Museum. Here you will see the Palatine Chapel with the beautiful frescoes painted by Giotto, the Armoury Hall, the Hall of the Baron and the collection of paintings by Neapolitan artists from the 17th to early 20th centuries.

At the end of the tour you will visit another medieval fortification of the city, Castel dell'Ovo or "Egg Castle", freely translated to English. Walking around its fortified stone walls you will hear the stories and legends about the rich history of the Castle built by the Normans in the 12th century.
