Explore one of the most important art galleries of the city and its beautiful Italian garden
Palazzo Pitti is a Renaissance palace named after its first owner back in the 15th century: the banker Luca Pitti. It was bought by the Medici family in 1550 and, later, it became the Asburgo-Lorena and Savoia royal palace.
Nowadays it is a museum complex where you can see hundreds of works of art, including Raphael, Titian and Rubens' masterpieces.
Visit the palace with an art-expert guide that will show you around the gallery and describe the beautiful paintings in the exhibit. Listen to the history of one of the most famous and powerful families of Florence, the Medici, and see their private collection and apartments.
During the centuries Palazzo Pitti was also a treasure house, where people kept jewelry, precious vases, ivory and amber objects and other valuable items. They are still kept in the museum and they will be part of your tour.
Explore the Boboli Garden just outside the palazzo. Immerse yourself in one of the first examples of Italian garden, a real open-air museum.
Take a walk trough the park to see its statues, its fountains, such as the Fountain of the Ocean, and other beautiful attractions.
